Sergey Lavrov, born 21 March 1950, is a Russian diplomat, who has been the Foreign Minister of Russia since 2004. His nomination to the Foreign Minister's office was approved by two Russian presidents, in 2008 by Dmitry Medvedev and in 2012 by Vladimir Putin. Prior to that, Lavrov was a Soviet diplomat and Russia's ambassador to the United Nations from 1994 to 2004. Besides his native Russian, Lavrov speaks English, French, and Sinhala.

Dmitry Livanov is a Russian Doctor of Physics, professor, former rector of Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, and the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation since May 2012. In 2004-2005, he became director of the scientific-technical and innovation department of the Ministry of Education and Science. In 2005-2007, he was promoted to Deputy Minister of Education and Science. In 2007, he became rector of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys. He held this position till 21 May 2012, when he was appointed to the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in Dmitry Medvedev's Cabinet.
